Paradise is exactly what I needed to start the year.  Our family spent ten glorious days in Puerto Rico enjoying the warm weather, beautiful views and some family time.  It would be an understatement to say we had a great time.  Being in flip flops and having sand between my toes is one of my all-time favorite things and it proved to be the cure to the morning sickness I was experiencing up until we flew out.  I am feeling very energized and ready to see all of the beautiful faces that 2011 will bring to this blog!

Of course I must share just a few snapshots from our trip.  I’ll admit that I did not pick up the camera as much as I thought I would.  Taking a break and snapping away from my iPhone was just good enough on some days.  Look for another post of my little guy’s “official” 3 year portraits later this week.  For now, I hope you are all staying warm and dreaming of the warm weather that will soon be upon us.

Micah was so excited to run free on the beach.  I love his expression from our first day/evening there.

I enjoyed every second of the view from my lounge chair–waves crashing in and my two guys playing in the sand.

Another fun day playing in the sand.  John tried using that big ol’ black bucket to build a castle but ended up giving us a good laugh instead (the sand was like concrete and would not release).

Breathtaking view from Rt. 3 en route to Ponce, PR.

Quick stop at La Guancha in Ponce Puerto Rico.  Micah with his forced grin–he really would rather be behind the camera.

Ponce Puerto Rico

A first for all of us, we traveled to Vieques, a small island (part of Puerto Rico) that is off the east coast.  And look, I (and belly) made it in front of the camera 🙂

It was definitely a wonderful time…I started planning our next trip there before boarding our return flight home.  If any of you plan on traveling to Puerto Rico and would like to have family portraits made while you are there, let me know!  I would be more than happy to rearrange my schedule 🙂
