A little housekeeping: Maternity leave for me is soon coming to an end. I am now booking fall sessions and only have a few spots remaining for the month of September and October. I can’t believe that it has been two months since my baby girl, Eliora, was born. My time with her and Micah the last two months has been amazing. Of course, we’ve had our share of sleep deprivation and plenty of diapers, but for the most part we are very grateful for the smooth transition from a family of three to four. Eliora is growing fast! It seems like the second month went faster than the first. I am doing everything possible to soak it all in. Today she had her well baby check-up and weighed in at 12 lbs 12 oz–that’s over 3 lbs gained in one month! She is healthy and a sweet baby.
At nine days old…
and at two months old. It is amazing how much they change in that short amount of time. It looks like her eye color might be hazel or turning brown like me 🙂 Her hair has gotten a bit lighter since birth. I’m so happy that she didn’t lose it all and is starting to grow even more.
She is a super happy baby, a great little nurser, and stealing all of our hearts. Eliora flashed her first (intentional) smile at her daddy just a day shy of one month old. She has a special look for him and I have even seen her batting her eye lashes at him. John (my husband) is super proud. Eliora is cooing a little and pays close attention to our every word. Sometimes it feels like she is trying so hard to talk back to us. We are seeing glimpses of her personality and all I can say is that she is all sweetness.
Big brother Micah continues to be in love with his little sister. He initiates lots of hugs and kisses and always wants to hold her. He didn’t want to be left out of the photo shoot and jumped in at the opportunity. I have the sweetest boy too! He will be turning four in a couple of weeks. Looking at this image I can see how his face is changing too. That baby look is fading…I really want to hold on tight but I know this is just part of life for him to grow up.
Here is a progression of Eliora’s growth. Most won’t notice but I have to mention that the chair is in a different room for each shot. Long story short, I wanted Micah to keep his chair in his room and Eliora to have her own, but his is so much more comfy that I just had to switch them for my comfort. I had forgotten how much a baby really feeds (and how much mom has to sit)!
You’ll be seeing another post in the next few weeks featuring Micah turning four! Once September comes and maternity leave is officially over, you’ll start seeing some new client faces. Until then I hope you enjoy seeing my family 🙂
