I am very excited about a personal project, “The way I view…”, that I will be sharing with you. I am proud CMPro member on Clickin Moms, where I get to grow as an artist along side other professional photographers. It is a true honor to be surrounded by such a talented group of women. Each month a group of thirteen of us will be sharing images for a selected topic and linking to another group member so that you will be able to read and view our work in a full circle. I hope that you enjoy each post and that you’ll follow us along throughout 2012.
“The way I view new beginnings”
I have a love for orchids that grew from my amazing grandmother who was a master at caring for the most exotic orchids. When she passed away, I wanted to keep a part of her with me and the most logical way for me was through orchids. It took me a little bit to figure out where to place my orchids so they would receive the appropriate light to bloom. Surprisingly, this study of light for my orchids has given me an eye for light in my photography. As soon as I saw “new beginnings” as our topic for January, I knew I would be using my soon-to-bloom orchids (all of them will be blooming within weeks of each other–should be a pretty winter/spring in my house). Give me my macro lens + a pretty subject + some sunlight and I can get lost behind the camera fascinated by the smallest details.
