Do you remember this gorgeous expecting mother? Well, I am finally sharing her beautiful, precious little girl! I’ll admit that she was so cute I went back to see her a second dayMy clients usually follow my instructions perfectly (these clients did!) to create a pleasant atmosphere for baby’s first portraits, but once in a while there is one thing out of our control–the baby. Prior to newborn sessions I tell parents two things. 1. It will look like I am moving in when I arrive and 2. I will go with the baby’s flow. While there are many techniques that I use to keep babies sleepy and calm so we can achieve the dreamy + peaceful images you see in my portfolio, I always follow the baby’s cues. It is not something that happens often, but if necessary, I will return on another day to finish the session so that I can present my clients with a gallery full of beautiful images they love. That is what having a custom photographer is all about. I know it was really important to her mother that we capture the sleepy shots and with some patience and perseverance we were able to do that.

Getting to capture the little details of a new baby is probably my favorite part of newborn photo sessions.She has one very proud big sister.I absolutely love the joy in this image.
