the way i view back to school | reading pa and berks county children’s photographer

September’s theme for the CMPro’s “the way I view…” project was back to school so with today’s post I’m sharing what it looks like at our house.  John (my husband) and I have discussed the education of our children since before they were conceived. We knew very early on, perhaps by the time our son was one, that homeschooling was a strong option for our family. Over the past five years, we’ve had our moments when we’ve wavered between traditional schooling and homeschooling, but when we sat down and really talked about our educational philosophy, our values and what’s most important to us, we knew homeschooling would be the way we would educate our children. I am sure family and friends have scratched their heads wondering what we are doing, but we are so excited about this journey! I am loving it so far. It has already been more rewarding than I had ever imagined. It’s pretty cool that we get to do this as a family.

When asked if he’s in school this year, he proudly replies that he does school at home.reading pa child photographerreading pa child photographerreading pa child photographerreading pa child photographerHead over to April Neinhuis to see her interpretation of this month’s theme.

I wish I was “with-it” enough to even attempt this! I miss my kiddos so much during the day, but do not think I could pull homeschooling off… my hat goes off to you!

Glad to know I’m not alone in my homeschooling journey. Although I’m not really with it yet I know, like you, that it will be incredibly rewarding. Layla proudly says she does home at school too 🙂
