I’m frequently asked what I like to photograph best and my answer is surprising to most. I love macro photography. I get lost in details that are barely noticeable to the naked eye. My answer also stems from a state of indecisiveness. When it comes to photographing humans, it is hard to point to a specific stage of life that I’m draw to photograph more than others.
Take this three year old, for instance. How could I possibly say that I would prefer to get a squishy brand new baby to these hysterically funny expressions filled with equally funny wittiness? Can’t I just have both?
Indeed, I will get both. Next month. This guy will be graduating into the big brother shoes and I’ll get to photograph him and the little one together. Let’s hope the new one appreciates his humor as much as I do.
His yearly session was a bit different from past sessions in that our planning was very loose. His mommy wanted to go with the flow so we headed to some familiar spots (for them) in their town. Some of the resulting images are a bit more fun than my typical work, but it should be expected. We were at the playground so naturally there was more fun to be had!
