a year older…|reading and berks county photographer

or younger.  I’m not sure which I’m feeling, but my number has gone up one more today.  Yes, happy birthday to me!  I will be spending my day with the two awesome guys God has put in my life and will probably eat some form of cake…maybe cheesecake to change things up a bit.  I am pretty certain that I’ve had cake on every single one of my birthdays.  I thought this was the norm, but my husband (then boyfriend) was shocked when I showed up with cake on his 20-something birthday.  I guess it wasn’t part of his family tradition to have cake on EVERY birthday.  Micah (my son) is so LUCKY to have me!  He will enjoy cake on his birthday as long as I can help it.

One great principle I’ve learned in my short life is that it is better to give than to receive.   SO, to celebrate my birthday I want to give one special person a $90 gift certificate to beira brown photography.  To enter, simply leave a comment in the comment section below the post.  I want to know, do you have cake on your birthday?  Leave your reply and one comment will be randomly selected as the winner.  Please be kind and only enter one comment per person.  Remember, it’s my birthday and I don’t want to have to lay down the law today.  LOL.  The winner will be announced Nov 2, 2009.

Have a great day everyone!  I know I will:)

You know, my husband didn’t always have a cake on his birthday either, but in my family, when there’s a birthday, there’s cake! We never miss out on the opportunity to celebrate.

Happy Birthday, Beira! 🙂

I have a pretty funny story. The tradition my mom started was to have cake on your birthday but instead of waiting all the way till the end of the day, she would let us start the day with birthday cake. It is the BEST way to start your day with a nice big piece of chocolate cake. So my husband the first year we were married did not get me a birthday cake for breakfast or at all! I was so upset that now he makes sure I have chocolate cake for my birthday. I am very glad to see that Micah will be having cake every year on his birthday, I think its more important the gift or the #. Happy Belated Birthday and I enjoy your cheesecake.

I have cake on my birthday, the only time I don’t feel guilty!

I think a birthday without some form of cake is not a b-day. Every year it’s awesome to have cake and to blow out the candles…well I prefer one candle to represent one more year than my actual “age”. Even though my little ones are always keeping count of my and my husband’s age, I wonder in what census are they thinking to give this info to… LOL 🙂 Especially now that my husband’s bday is in November and mine is in December.

Well Beira, hope you have a great day and enjoyed a good slice of cheesecake or some sort of cake to celebrate one more year. Take care! and God bless you all…

Are you kidding?? What is a birthday without cake!!?? I tend to eat it the entire month of my birthday! 🙂 And i am not to shy to let everyone know EXACTLY what kind of cake will make me the happiest either…my favorite these days is something from Cold Stone…anything with Chocolate, PB, and coffee ice cream!! My husband loves how he has to special order it ahead 🙂

Happy Birthday!! Hope you and your family had a fabulous day!!

Happy Birthday Beira! 29 right? And from here on out, too 🙂 I hope you enjoyed your cake and your special day with your boys.

My favorite is carrot cake with cream cheese icing. The husband is anything chocolate – I usually make brownies.

Hope you had a great one.

This little beauty put smiles on my face…I’m still smiling thinking about our time together, actually.  She was showing me leaves and then sniffing them as if they were flowers.  I asked her if they smelled like flowers and she said, “no, they smell like nothing” in her cute, yet very clear, toddler speech.

While I am a summer gal, I can’t deny the beauty of fall colors…

Look at the adorable little brother!

Thanks to mom for letting me play with the kids this morning!

Megan and Bob tied the knot on 10-10-09 and I had the privilege of assisting my friend Meghan Callen at their wedding.  These two have a strong connection and are completely head over heels for each other.

I think you will notice that I was (still am) in LOVE with Megan’s dress…and she looked fabulous in it!

So relaxed, so natural, and so in love.

Congratulations once again, Megan and Bob!  May your marriage be filled with passion and love.

Check out the beira brown photography fan page on Facebook (and become a fan while you’re there if you aren’t one already) for a few more shots from Megan and Bob’s day.
